Does it seem that the world, the country, the state are just growing crazier, or is it just me? No, it can’t be me.
This story will take a little digging, but The Advance News received it late Tuesday, July 28, on deadline day, of course.
There are so many things wrong with this global pandemic, it’s hard to figure out what can and cannot be fixed. The state tried to re-open businesses, but now that’s being reconsidered, at least at the county level. Last week, Hidalgo County’s Local Health Authority issued an order effectively closing schools in Hidalgo County, both public and private, until Sept. 27.
In a sad sense of irony, the same day last week that two McAllen police officers lost their lives to an ambush attack, two sides were trading punches at a pro-police rally up in Brooklyn.
