Former Catholic priest’s trial delayed due to Patterson trial

PHARR -- On the surface, based on a press release sent out by the City of Pharr late Monday, everything is hunky-dory inside the Pharr Police Department. Only news is that longtime Police Chief Ruben Villescas announced his retirement as did his assistant chief, Javier Gonzalez.
Beneath the surface, however, things inside the PD aren’t quite as calm as they seem. Some officers are upset because in their opinion, everyone is not being treated equally and favoritism has been at play.
