COVID-19 claims the lives of 40 people; 271 tested positive for the virus

FRIDAY, 7-31-2020 EDINBURG – Forty residents have died today due to COVID-19 complications, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Thursday. Another 271 tested positive for the virus which brings the total number of known positive cases to 16,646.  “Each day we continue to lose more of our fellow county residents to this deadly virus.
