HCSO, Precinct 4 announce toy giveaway event on Dec. 17

With December finally here, some local entities are getting into the holiday spirit for the local community.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, along with Hidalgo County Precinct 4 are linking up to host a toy giveaway and holiday celebration on Dec. 17.

The event will fall on a Wednesday, and it will be held at the Alfonso Flores All Star Park in Edinburg. The park is located at 107 Sunflower Road. It will be from 5 to 9 p.m The event will be free.. Both groups are looking to “spread holiday joy” by creating a special evening for the local children. The event will feature a toy giveaway, photos with Santa, games, rides, and other fun activities not only for the kids but for the families who attend.

“We are thrilled to join forces with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office to bring our residents an unforgettable holiday event,” Commissioner Ellie Torres said in a release.

Sheriff J.E. “Eddie” Guerra also shared the same sentiment.

“Bringing joy to children during the holiday season is one of our favorite traditions, and we look forward to celebrating with the community,” he said.
