McAllen Public Library launches reading challenge for all ages

McAllen Public Library invites children, teens and adults to sign up for the 2022 Winter Reading Challenge; the library offers a fun, literacy-based program for all ages!

Children can complete a fun Winter Break Reading Challenge. This program runs from Dec. 17, 2021 to January 4, 2022. This adorable challenge is completed by filling up an image of a hot cocoa mug by logging reading hours with marshmallows. Visit the Children’s area of any branch of the McAllen Public Library to pick up this challenge.

Teens and adults are encouraged to participate in a six-week program that runs January 3, 2022 through February 11, 2022. Patrons may register for this reading challenge at mcallenlibrary.beanstack. org. Log in and earn badges to collect a prize!

“Winter Reading Challenges are a fun way to engage as a family and encourage a lifelong habit of reading,” said Kate Horan, Library Director.
