Palm Valley Animal Society set to host clinic on Saturday

“Our region lacks enough veterinary care to serve the number of pets in our community, and when veterinary resources are available, they are rarely affordable. These low-cost community clinics make vital pet care services accessible to everyone.” — Adriana Gonzales, spokesperson

Special to the Advance

Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is proud to announce its upcoming Community Clinic, an event dedicated to the health and well-being of our beloved pets in the South Texas community.

The event will be held on Nov. 18 for those who had pre-registered. Registration had ended on Nov. 12.

PVAS has always been at the forefront of progressive lifesaving initiatives in South Texas, and our Community Clinic is just one of the many ways we continue to make a positive impact. Dr. Robert Ramos, DVM, who also serves on Palm Valley's Board of Directors, generously volunteers his time and talents to ensure that the pets of South Texas receive the proper care they need. With his expertise and dedication, you can trust that your furry companions are in excellent hands.

'Our region lacks enough veterinary care to serve the number of pets in our community, and when veterinary resources are available, they are rarely affordable. These low-cost community clinics make vital pet care services accessible to everyone,' says PVAS spokesperson Adriana Gonzales. 'We are grateful for the dedication of Dr. Ramos and all the staff and volunteers who make these events possible.'

These monthly community clinics, made feasible by grant funding from Banfield Foundation, aim to serve 1,800 owned pets in the Rio Grande Valley with microchips, vaccines, and flea/tick prevention from September to December 2023.

By participating in these events, one does not only ensure the well-being of your pets but also support our mission of saving and enriching the lives of animals in the Rio Grande Valley.

For those pet owners who didn’t have the chance to register, don’t fret. The clinic holds these events on the second Saturday of each month.

The next clinic will be on Dec. 16.
