Pharr Centennial Lions Club gains grant for flood relief
The Pharr Centennial Lions Club — a local nonprofit organization — recently received an emergency grant from the Texas Lions Foundation to aid in recovery efforts following the tragic flood that hit the region in late March.
The grant now allows the club to help out those who were impacted by the floods. At the time, the county reported that some parts of the region saw about 14 inches of rain.
“This generous grant allows us to provide direct assistance to Pharr residents whose households were impacted by the recent flooding,” the club said in a release. “Eligible individuals may receive a limited gift card (available while supplies last) to help address immediate recovery needs.
How does one apply?
If you or someone you know who has been affected by the floods can contact Liza Cardoza at (956) 393-7125 or email the club at PharrLionsClub@gmail.com.
The recipients who are selected will be contacted directly.
“We encourage community members to share this information with anyone in need,” the club said. “Together, we can support one another in rebuilding and recovering from this disaster.”
