The City of McAllen is preparing for this year’s McAllen Independence Day Celebration presented by H-E-B. The annual Independence Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 3, 2021, with an early morning patriotic program, immediately followed by the Main Street Parade and then the Freedom Festival, a family-friendly festival held at Archer Park. Music, food, and games will be some of the highlights of the event.

Visit Quinta Mazatlán on Thursday evening June 17th for a LIVE Reptile Adventure with Danny Conner. Among the stars of the show are Juanita, a Reticulated Python; “Spartacus”, a 100-year-old Alligator Snapping Turtle; and last but not least, “Apollo”, an Albino Burmese Python.

Arya, a beautiful, and very rare dilute calico tabby with gold eyes and an adorable pastel pink nose, was born in September 2020. She was raised in foster care with a mama dog who had herself a passel of nine sweet puppies. As a result of this experience in extreme nurturing, Arya became an extremely loving cat who is partial to puppies and friendly dogs. Once the litter of puppies was adopted, Arya was introduced to a new friend, Kit Kat, another young female who recently came into the Cinderella shelter.
