PHARR – On Monday, Pharr City Commissioner Bobby Carrillo, together with JoJo from KTEX and Ruben Vela from Super Tejano, announced the lineup for this year’s HUBPhest, which is themed "Country Boots/Tejano Roots." Pharr’s annual flagship festival, HUBPhest, will take place starting at 2 pm in downtown Pharr on Saturday, April 4, 2020, and is FREE for all attendees before 5 pm, and only $5 admission after 5 pm. All you can ride carnival wristbands will be sold for $5.

EDINBURG – Twenty-five regional high school Mock Trial Teams converged at the Hidalgo County Courthouse to try the fictional case of Carlin George vs. Naylor for the annual mock trial event. In what is turning out to be quite a rivalry, the Sharyland High School Team and Robert Vela High School team traded objections and endured cross-examinations to the bitter end and this year, Sharyland High School emerged victorious and earned a first-place finish in the final competition held on January 18, 2020. Robert Vela High School (Edinburg CISD) earned runner-up honors, and McAllen ISD’s Lamar Academy earned a third-place finish. The top three teams will advance to state competition to be held March 6, 2020, in Dallas, Texas.
