Edinburg PD set to host toy giveaway on Friday

Everyone deserves a gift this Christmas — especially the little ones. Right?

Right. That’s why the Edinburg Police Department is set to host its Blue Santa Toy Giveaway on Friday at the Promenade Park Amphitheater.

There’s going to be a lot of toys — but don’t toy around with the time. Although about 3,500 toys will be distributed to Edinburg children, it is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 201 W. McIntyre St.

The public is invited to attend the event as the police department, local businesses and community partners band together ahead of the holidays.

“The community will also be able to enjoy live performances, a variety of food vendors, carolers, and a free screening of 'The Grinch' as officers celebrate the spirit of the season alongside the residents they serve,” a release by the city said.
