Summer Solstice Nature Festival at Quinta Mazatlán rescheduled

In 2024, the summer solstice occurs on Thursday, June 20, 2024, and is celebrated around the world. Due to inclement weather expected on this date, the Summer Solstice Nature Festival has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 27, 2024.

The public is invited to Quinta Mazatlán, located at 600 Sunset Drive in McAllen, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to learn solstice facts, fun and folklore.

The solstice marks the official first day of summer in the northern hemisphere, and is the one day a year when this part of the world receive the most sunlight. The Summer Solstice Nature Festival at Quinta Mazatlán is designed for families and friends to gather and have fun in nature. Attendees are encouraged to bring flower head garland and sun-wear to participate in Forest Bathing with Taylor, Yoga with Quiet Mind Yoga, and Tibetan Singing Bowls with Irma. The Solstice Garden will feature live music by DJ Benny and RGV - Circulo de Tambores Madre Tierra (Mother Earth Drum Circle).

There will be crafts, and the public will learn facts about the summer solstice, vendors from Ruby’s Elotes, La Garaffa Nieve, and Randerie’s Freshly Squeezed Lemonade.
