How do gas prices from back then compare to now?

I came across the gas prices printed below while looking through old Word files the other day on my old iMac, and talk about sticker shock. The prices date back to 2016, almost exactly 10 years ago.

The old gas prices compared to today, which are shown on the sign accompanying this column, which was taken this past Sunday, tell the tale. None of it good.

No doubt by now, April 15th, gas and diesel prices have already gone up since Sunday. More price shock expected to come as the war shows no signs of slowing down.

In fact, it shows every sign of escalating.

The outlook for the midterms is already showing up in the polling numbers. Like it or not, the GOP is going to lose the House and probably the Senate as well.

The last two years of the Trump administration will likely be mired down in congressional hearings, calls for impeachment, investigations into insider trading, etc.

I used to be an independent, favoring neither political party, knowing that both were bought and paid for by special interests.

Only question was, which party had the most campaign money during any given election.

The price of gas, though, not to mention fertilizer, which also passes through the Strait of Hormuz, hits everyone especially hard, Democrats and Republicans alike.

I looked at the prices printed below from 10 years ago and felt sorry for the people, businesses, who can least afford to pay the current price of gas/diesel/ jet fuel.

Unfortunately, there appears no end in sight to our new forever war.

Heck of a way to celebrate this nation’s 250th anniversary this coming July 4th.
