Mission Man to serve 25 years in prison for continuous sexual abuse of minor

A Hidalgo County judge pronounced Juan Rangel Salinas, 71, of Mission, Texas, guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and sentenced him to 25 years in prison.
On Dec. 22, 2021, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched in reference to a Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child allegation involving Salinas and a minor child. The ensuing investigation revealed that Salinas had sexually abused a minor child between 6 to 7 years of age on a continuous basis.
On May 8, 2024, 93rd District Court Judge Fernando G. Mancias sentenced Salinas to 25 years of confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. There is no parole eligibility for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
The case was prosecuted by Special Crimes Assistant District Attorney Ricardo Hernandez.
