Teen suspect arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors

A McAllen teen was arrested this past weekend on charges that she allegedly provided alcohol to minors during a private gathering.

Kamila Milian Figueroa was arrested on six counts of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, which is a Class “A” Misdemeanor. According to a release by the McAllen Police Department, Figueroa is 17.

McAllen officers responded to an anonymous report of minors consuming alcoholic beverages at a gathering on Sunday at around 12:34 a.m. The gathering was on the block of South “M” Street, a release by the department said. At the site, officers observed cans, as well as bottles of alcoholic tea and beer on the residence’s lawn.

The release said that the homeowner was not at the location during the time of the incident but was contacted and later assisted the officers on the scene.

According to the release, the homeowner gave permission for Figueroa to host a gathering but was not aware of any alcoholic beverages.

Statements gathered at the residence indicated that Figueroa hosted the gathering and facilitated the furnishing of alcoholic beverages to at least six minors.

“Some of the attendees are believed to have fled the scene as Officers investigated,” the release said. “ One person was also charged with Failure to Identify, a Class B Misdemeanor, for providing a false name to investigating Officers.”

Figueroa’s bond is $4,000 for each count. This case remains under investigation.
