Early voting for McAllen Commission District 4 special election begins

The City of McAllen is holding a special election for registered voter residents of McAllen City Commission District 4 Saturday, January 22, 2022. Early Voting for this office will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 5, continuing through Jan. 18.

Former District 4 Commissioner Tania Ramirez stepped down to run for Hidalgo County Judge.

Candidates include:

• Pablo Damian Garcia

• Rodolfo “Rudy” Castillo

>Wednesday, Jan. 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

>Thursday, Jan. 6 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Friday, Jan. 7 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Saturday, Jan. 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

>Monday, Jan. 10 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Tuesday, Jan.11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Wednesday Jan. 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Thursday Jan. 13 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Friday, Jan. 14 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Saturday, Jan. 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

>Monday, Jan. 17 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

>Tuesday, Jan. 18 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Early Voting by personal appearance is at the following locations:

>Fireman’s Pump House — 201 North 1st Street

>Lark Community Center — 2601 Lark Avenue

>Palm View Community Center — 3401 W. Jordan Ave.

Election Day will take place Saturday, Jan. 22 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following polling location:

>Palm View Community Center — 3401 W. Jordan Ave.

Election Day voting is also only open for registered voters of McAllen City Commission District 4, on Election Day and on this day, they will only be able to vote in their respective districts.

McAllen will again be utilizing the electronic voting machines exclusively for this election during both Early Voting and Election Day. Paper ballots will not be used for this election. COVID-19 protocols will be followed by election workers. Voters are encouraged to wear masks.
