Local student recognized by school board; slated to compete for nationals

The PSJA School Board recognized PSJA North Early College High School senior and 31-6A Boys Cross-Country Regional and State Qualifier Hector Solis.

Solis is a three-time varsity athlete and will be graduating with an Associate Degree from South Texas College later this school year. He has been admitted to the The University of Texas at Austin.

His high school accomplishments include:

-1st place at the 31-6A District Meet, finishing over 20 seconds ahead of second place

-3x regional qualifier, placing second at the Region 4 cross-country meet

-3x UIL State Meet qualifier, placing fourth with a personal 5K record of 15:09

On Nov. 27, he will compete at the Eastbay South Regional Meet in North Carolina for an opportunity to qualify for the national team.
