Pharr celebrates start of produce season

The City of Pharr officially kicked off the 2025-2026 Produce season at the Pharr International Bridge this past Thursday.

Local officials from the city were present — alongside state representatives — to commemorate the 12th annual event. The event serves as a way to emphasize and highlight produce trade, which is beneficial not only to the region, but as well as economies across borders.

A color combination of avocados, peppers and more adorned tables during the celebration.

“We’re grateful for the incredible support of our city officials, industry leaders, and sponsors from both sides of the border who joined us in celebrating this important moment,” the Pharr International Bridge said. “Each season reminds us of the strong partnerships that power Pharr’s role as a key international gateway for fresh produce. Together, we look forward to continued collaboration, innovation, and a successful season ahead.”
