Road closures slated for Interchange Project

Nightly full closures are scheduled this week for various construction activities related to the I-2 / I-69C Interchange Project.
‘Harlingen to Edinburg’ direct connector
The ‘Harlingen to Edinburg direct connector will be closed through Thursday, March 21, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
I-2 westbound main lane in Pharr
The westbound I-2 main lanes will be fully closed between the Veterans Boulevard exit ramp and the Cage Boulevard exit ramp, in Pharr.
The closure will take place nightly, through Thursday, March 21, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
I-2 eastbound main lanes in Pharr/San Juan
The eastbound I-2 main lanes will be fully closed between the Sugar Road exit ramp in Pharr and Oblate Drive in San Juan.
The closure will take place Wednesday, March 20 through Friday, March 22 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The ‘Edinburg to Harlingen’ direct connector will not be accessible during this closure.
I-2 westbound frontage road in McAllen
The westbound I-2 frontage road will be closed between Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue, in McAllen. The closure will be through Thursday, March 21, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Underpass closures
The following underpasses will be intermittently closed nightly until Saturday, March 23, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Jackson Road underpass
• Cage Boulevard underpass
• Veterans Boulevard underpass According to a release by Dragados-Pulice Joint Venture, there will be a daily road closure until March 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — in which the right lane closure on the I-2 westbound frontage road that lies between Nebraska Avenue and Veterans Boulevard will take place.
Drivers are reminded to stay alert and all work is weather permitting.
