Two confess to Mission murder; but will confessions remain intact?

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office arrested Edna Rivera and Julio Cesar De Leon earlier this week for the murder of Fernando Garza Jr., which first came to light last week. According to the sheriff’s office, both have already confessed to the murder.

According to a press release issued this Monday by the sheriff’s office, on Thursday, July 25, 2019, sheriff’s deputies responded to the Mission area in reference to a welfare concern about the whereabouts of 22-year-old Fernando Garza Jr. who was reportedly last seen by family on or about July 23, 2019.

During the investigation into the whereabouts of the victim, it was learned that Garza had been (allegedly) kidnapped and shot by a male nick-named “Diamond.”
