Hinojosa announces program accepting applications for assistance with energy, water bills

— Senator Juan 'Chuy' Hinojosa is pleased to announce that the Texas Utility Help program is accepting applications for energy assistance. In addition, the program is now offering assistance for past-due and future water and wastewater bills through September 30, 2023. Administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), Texas Utility Help is funded by the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and federal Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). The program aims to provide financial support to eligible households by making direct payments to utility companies on their behalf. Texas Utility Help is available to qualified homeowners and renters with low income.
