The Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Do I care? No. Didn’t even watch the game. Patrick Mahomes now has two Super Bowl rings, big deal. He’ll never last long enough to match the seven that Brady has, even though some sports pundits are already referring to him as the “new Brady.” Mahomes already shows signs of wear and tear, with repeated injuries already made to his knee and ankle, and he’s only 27. Brady was superman. Not too many of them around.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar distributes $1.3B in monthly sales tax revenue to cities

— Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for February, 9.3 percent more than in February 2022.

Region One ESC prepares state, government employees for Texas contract manager certification exam

— State and local government employees from across Texas traveled to the Region One Education Service Center (ESC) to participate in a hands-on, twoday Texas Contract Manager Certification Course, held Feb. 9 and 10 at the Region One ESC Conference Center.
