Cardoza, a government public relations professional running for office for the first time, faced two opponents in the historic inaugural election to seat three elected representatives on the board. Cardoza held an early lead of 55% of the total early voting tally, and maintained the impressive spread as the Election Day results were released and Cardoza was ultimately victorious.
