When I was growing up — OK, I’ve never completely grown up — but back when I was trying to grow up, the word “queer” was considered a big nono. Now it’s everywhere, like a badge of honor. In fact, if the gay community doesn’t stop adding initials to its movement, we’re going to need more letters. Currently, it stands at seven — LGBTQIA.
