Upon taking office, President Trump addressed the president of Mexico and offered to help her defeat the drug cartels. She did a good imitation of any one of the current crop of Democrat U.S. governors, and refused all help. High ranking Mexicans as well as United States liberals criticized Trump’s offer as being an impossibility and non-starter.

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 6.4 percent more than in November 2024.
Court temporarily restores state’s new congressional map

Texas is back to using its 2025 congressional map, at least temporarily, after Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito granted the state’s request to pause a court ruling that would have required using the lines legislators drew in 2021.
