Our backyard: A butterfly haven

Out in our backyard, the butterflies were going crazy last month, fluttering all around the seven-foot Esperanzas, working to get at the sweet nectar inside their bright-yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers. What a life. In fact, the other day, I was thinking, you know, if there’s any truth to reincarnation, I might like to come back one day as a butterfly. You know, as opposed to a cockroach or a dirty diaper, just to try something different. Then I read that the butterflies’ average life expectancy is one month, 30 days, and I think, no, maybe not.
