WASHINGTON — On Monday, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced a $2,274,088 award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the National Church Residences in Seguin. The funding will support the construction of 14 affordable low-income housing units for elderly individuals.
EDINBURG — Two employees with the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 were sent to an area hospital after sustaining multiple stings from a bee attack. The two men were repairing erosion to a drainage ditch near Ridge Road between Jackson and Cage roads when they came across a swarm of bees and were stung more than 100 times each, according to first responders at the scene. The incident happened just before noon on Monday.
