On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at approximately 4:03 PM, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a theft of vehicle that occurred in the community of San Carlos. A frantic mother reported her grey Kia car had been stolen. The car was occupied with her 2-year-old son in his car seat. The mother briefly left her son unattended as she walked across the street to pick up her two children arriving home on the school bus.
