EDINBURG – Raymondville native Shan Rankin, who has served as executive director of the Museum of South Texas History since 1989, was honored with a resolution in Commissioners Court for her committed service to the community.
"Thank you for having me here today," said Rankin. "I am proud to be recognized by your court."
During her tenure, the museum served thousands of visitors and local citizens, completed multiple expansions, and changed its name to Museum of South Texas History to better reflect its mission to preserve and present the borderland heritage of South Texas and northeastern Mexico.
