EDINBURG – The Edinburg Rotary Club recently honored the top student athletes from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District. “It’s a great opportunity for the community to acknowledge what we are doing with our student athletes,” said ECISD Athletics Director Rogelio Garza. “They are students first, but we give them the opportunity to compete in another arena by being involved in athletics.” The students’ recognition is part of the Edinburg Rotary’s Student of the Month Program, which is held during the community service organization’s luncheon meeting at the Echo Hotel. “These are kids who have excelled in the classroom, that have also excelled ...
