PHARR – Britney Marchan, assistant manager at the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center and Alligator Sanctuary is guest speaker for the March 16, South Texas Border Chapter Texas Master Naturalist meeting. Marchan is a naturalist educator at the center. Her presentation, “American Alligator: Man-eater or Misunderstood?” is about alligators in the Rio Grande Valley and the center’s recent addition to its alligator sanctuary. She will discuss the definition of a nuisance alligator, debunk common negative misconceptions people have about alligators and discuss how to avoid dangerous situations with alligators.
