EDINBURG — Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector stop two smuggling attempts in Starr County that resulted in the seizure of 345 lbs. of marijuana with an estimated value of $276K.
Agents assigned to the Rio Grande City (RGC) station conducting patrol operations near Escobares, Texas, observed ten subjects carrying bundles of contraband. When the subjects noticed the agents they fled to the Rio Grande and swam back to Mexico. Agents seized five abandoned bundles of marijuana weighing 230 lbs.
