Two more die from COVID-19 complications; 157 more test positive for the virus

EDINBURG – More than a week after the 4th of July holiday, COVID-19 cases continue to rise as two people died due to complications from virus today, bringing the total number of fatalities to 152, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Monday. The deaths included a Female, 70+, from Weslaco and a Female, 70+, from Pharr. Health officials reported 157 new people have now tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of known positive cases to 8,197.
