EDINBURG — U.S. Border Patrol Agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector continue to encounter criminals with firearms.
Kingsville agents working at the Javier Vega, Jr. Checkpoint referred the driver of a Nissan sedan to the secondary inspection area due to a K-9 alert. During the inspection, agents found a small quantity of cocaine, a 9 mm pistol and a loaded 30 round magazine. Agents arrested the driver and escorted her to the station for processing. Border Patrol turned the case over to the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office.
