EDINBURG – Hidalgo County will launch a virtual COVID-19 video memorial on Friday, Jan. 15 highlighting local lives lost due to the coronavirus, said Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez. In November, the county posted notices on social media asking residents to submit photos of their loved ones and more than 285 photos were submitted. The 25 minute video memorial will be placed on the county’s website and social media pages. The photos in the video are in alphabetical order according to first name.
