MISSION – On Tuesday, Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Commissioner Everardo “Ever” Villarreal visited the Rio Grande levee to see the repairs performed on the levee. Here is a status report: Levee Status Report • Repairs to the breach • Repairs to the breach located near South Abram Road are 100% completed. • Repairs to the breach located near Chimney Park are currently underway. Approximately 1,000 ft. of the 1,700 ft. in need of repairs have been addressed. • Repairs to the Rio Grande levee are on schedule and should be completed by the deadline of June 1, 2021.
