On Sunday June 27, 2021 after 5:30 a.m. officers responded to a major two vehicle crash in the 900 block of North HWY 281. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the driver of a blue Nissan Sentra, identified as 20-year-old Alex Jaramillo, was driving southbound on the northbound lanes of north HWY 281. Jaramillo then collided head-on with a silver Chevy Volt. Jaramillo died at the scene of the wreck. His passenger was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
