I don’t know if a lot of people are noticing what’s happened in Hidalgo County of late, but the hospitalizations due to COVID-19 are almost double what they were four weeks ago. Granted, some are related to people gathering for the 4th of July, and we really won’t know how much of the new cases are tied to the holiday until the end of this week (incubation period post infection), but if the trend continues past this week, we’ll know that something new is afoot.
