Jackie Mason, the former Jewish rabbi who turned to stand-up comedy when he was in his late 20s, died last Saturday at the age of 93. RIP, funny guy.
Mason kicked off his career in the mid-1950s with jokes like this one about physicians:
“That’s a great profession, a doctor. Where else can you ask a woman to get undressed and then send a bill to her husband?”
In today’s PC world, that joke would draw criticism.
Another non-PC joke from the comedic great:
“You can’t please everyone. I have a girlfriend. I think she’s the most wonderful person in the world. That’s to me.
