Thick cloud cover: Descending; Ascending

Taking off and landing in thick cloud cover, say from 200 feet off the ground to 10,000 feet AGL (above ground level), and you can call it a trip. If you’re a passenger, it’s one thing. Up front in the cockpit, though, those are the best seats in the house. If the solid cloud cover contains no thunderstorms, then climbing out and descending through the thick soup can be a nice experience.
