We had another successful community clinic this month and we're so grateful for the support of Banfield Foundation and PetSmart Charities to make clinics like this happen. Even more, though, we want to give a giant shoutout to Dr. Robert Ramos, DVM, who has been stepping up to help us with veterinary services while we don't have a full-time vet on staff. He's been such a lifesav er, and we are so thankful! Are you a veterinarian working in the RGV? We need your help! Check out Monte's transformation! He's ready for you! In April, he was shy. The loud noises in the shelter scared him, and his response was to bark and growl at everyone, including us and other animals. While he's still working on confidence, he has come such a long way, and he is ready for adoption, foster, or rescue! Please meet him at our Trenton location today.
Ira went for a Tails on the Town adventure, and her fosters took her to the beach! We know now that she’s not a fan of the water but would be a great sand-digging partner! You too can give a dog a break from the shelter through our Tails on the Town program! Swing by either center after we open at 11 a.m. any day, pick up a foster dog and then bring them back by 6 p.m. Take them to the beach, the park, or just home to watch a movie! All the info you learn about them helps us find them the perfect match, and a day away from the shelter helps our dogs get some much-needed people interaction.
Meet 3-month-old Zenon, the life of the party! She has been with us for a month and has stolen our hearts. She came in with an injury to her left eye but we are unsure of what happened. Her favorite toy right now is a plastic ball that she loves to hit with her paws everywhere. Zenon also loves to have downtime to on your lap for some kisses. We have had a crazy amount of puppies and kittens coming into the shelter. As a result we are in urgent need of 2-week foster caregivers for puppies, kittens, and infant pets with nursing moms in order for them to be cleared for rescue transfer. Becoming a foster for us is easy! No experience is required and we'll teach you all you need to know and provide all of the needed supplies.
