Vanguard Academy students celebrate 100 days of school

“We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many changes to our students and teachers,” said Vanguard Academy Superintendent Dr. Narciso Garcia. “But it has not changed the spirit of Vanguard Academy. We celebrate our students each and every day and the 100th day marks a milestone for our students to reflect on their learning and how much they have grown.” Signs reading, “One Hundred Days Smarter” and “Celebrate 100 Days!” adorned hallways, classroom doors and bulletin boards.

The school’s principal shared his own sentiment on the milestone.

“We look forward to celebrating our students’ successes,” said Vanguard Academy Van Gogh Middle School Principal Jose Gonzalez. “Our journey started with one step that led us to 100 days that have established the foundation which will hold the destiny of each child that walks through our doors.”

While some students wore shirts celebrating the accomplishment, other students and teachers were creative and dressed as 100-year-olds using props like canes, glasses, shawls, and suspenders.

“To celebrate the 100th day of school, our school came up with the theme ‘100 Days Brighter,’” said Vanguard Academy Mozart Elementary Principal Rocio Corina-Garcia. “Our students participated in many hands-on activities, engaging them in on this special day.”
