This ancient, yellowed letter dated 1937 is hard to read, but it shows what land cost 85 years ago in the Sharyland area: $250 an acre. Or less.Today, one local realtor estimates that same acre would probably set you back $175,000, depending obviously on a few variables; but on average, $175k.Adjusted for inflation, that $250 today would equal approximately $5,000.
