Les Yeux Sans Visage

I heard the 1984 Billy Idol song “Eyes Without a Face” a couple of weeks ago. It’s about the human condition and moral decay—the title is borrowed from the 1960 French horror film, “Les Yeux Sans Visage” (Eyes Without a Face), in which a plastic surgeon’s daughter becomes so hideously disfigured in a car accident that he’s compelled to murder young women then graft their facial features onto her in an attempt to restore her beauty.
