McAllen proposes property tax rate decrease for taxpayers

McALLEN — As part of the proposed $630 million municipal budget for fiscal year 2022-2023, McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E. recommended to Mayor Javier Villalobos and the McAllen City Commissioners a significant decrease in the property tax rate for McAllen taxpayers. The proposed recommendation lowers the property tax rate from $0.4956 per $100 valuation to $0.4799 per $100 valuation.
