SERGIO SALINAS

Sergio Salinas, 48, of Pharr, entered eternal rest Saturday January 28, 2023 at Windsor Arbor View in Edinburg.

Sergio was born on November 7, 1974 in Harlingen, TX to Guadalupe Salinas Jr. and Olivia Guerrero. After graduating from PSJA North in 1994, he went on to become an A-EMT where he worked alongside his friends at Valley EMS, Pro-Medic EMS and Hidalgo County EMS. His last run with EMS was with Med-Care as a call taker. Sergio was passionate about saving lives and continued to do so for 28 years. Sergio, fondly known as “Surge” and “Dos Ocho Cinco,” held many titles in his life, but his favorite role was being a father. Sergio loved nothing more than spending time with his beautiful daughter, Faith Maree Salinas. Sergio started coaching Faith in softball when she was 3 years old and was dedicated to this role until she was 11. “Surge” and Faith shared an everlasting bond that will forever be filled with cherished memories.

Sergio is preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Salinas.

He is survived by his daughter, Faith Maree Salinas; former spouse and best friend, Erika Garza; his mother, Olivia Guerrero; a sister, Anna (Julio Ortiz) Salinas; and three nephews Jordan, Jeremy and Jacob Ortiz.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a 12 noon Memorial Service on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, TX. Inurnment of cremated remains will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
