To prepare area school district emergency teams with the latest best practices, the Region One Education Service Center (ESC) School Safety Initiative hosted its second annual school safety conference Aug. 3-4 at the Region One ESC Conference Center in Edinburg.The conference gathered over 300 members of school system safety teams for a culmination of information, legislative updates and best practices to equip schools with optimal safety tools and resources.This year, Region One ESC partnered with the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to introduce participants to critical topics, such as fentanyl and opioid prevention,
