Election Day for county runoffs slated for Dec. 9

With early voting coming to an end, election day looms for a few Hidalgo County runoff races.

Both Mission and Donna have ballots where voters can cast a vote and elect their respective officials. Election Day is Dec. 9.

City of Mission

Mission’s special election is a runoff ballot for City Council Place 3. The candidates are Peter Geddes, Noel Salinas, Marissa Ortega Gerlach and Abraham Padron.

There will be two locations for people to cast their ballot.

• Conference Room at Mission City Hall, located at 1201 E. 8th St. (Mission, TX)

• Gymnasium at Mission Boys & Girls Club at Bannworth Park, located at 1822 N. Shary Road (Mission, TX)

City of Donna

For Donna, voters will be able to select their mayor. The candidates for mayor are David Moreno and Ricardo “Rick” Morales.

In addition, runoffs for councilmember Place No. 1 and 3 will take place. For Councilmember Place No.1, the candidates are Jesse “Coach” Jackson and Richie Moreno. For Place No. 3, the candidates are Ernesto Lugo and Lupita Bueno.

There will be one location for people to cast their ballot.

• Main Area at Amigos Del Valle, located at 1408 Silver Ave. (Donna, TX) The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
