Special to the AdvanceEDINBURG — On Thursday, multiple agencies responded to a fire at 3101 S. Closner, the site of a Hidalgo County storage facility. The facility was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.The building previously served as the Hidalgo County Jail and has been utilized as an archived document and surplus property storage site for multiple Hidalgo County departments.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.The extent of the damage and departments affected is being assessed as of press time.“We are thankful for all the first responders who came to our assistance during ...
