PSJA North athlete commits to Gallaudet University

PHARR — PSJA North Early College High School senior Jose Alanis signed a commitment letter April 17 to pursue his football career at Gallaudet University on a full-ride scholarship.
Gallaudet University, renowned for its dedication to deaf and hard-of-hearing students, has acknowledged Alanis’ outstanding athletic abilities and academic potential by granting him this prestigious scholarship.
Throughout his high school journey, Alanis has demonstrated excellence both on and off the field. As a key player for the PSJA North ECHS Raider football team, Alanis contributed significantly to the program's success, gaining statewide recognition for the Rio Grande Valley. He has exhibited remarkable skills, determination, and leadership during his time at PSJA North ECHS.
In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Alanis has shown a strong commitment to academics and a passion for justice. He intends to pursue a major in Criminal Justice at Gallaudet University, reflecting his aspiration to positively impact his community.
Alanis is honored and excited to play football at the collegiate level, expressing gratitude to his family, teachers, and coaches for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
