Nightly closures of underpasses commence this week

PHARR — As the days cruise by, the construction in the area continues.

There will be nightly closures of underpasses this week until May 13, according to a release by Dragados-Pulice Joint Venture.

The underpasses that will undergo nightly closures are as follows:

• The underpass at Cage Boulevard

• The underpass at Jackson Road

• The underpass at U.S. Business 83 Make sure to plan ahead as the closures will be nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The closures are for construction of the new I-2 westbound main lanes in Pharr and McAllen, the release said.

Work is weather permitting and drivers are encouraged to stay alert, drive safe and slow down in roadwork zones.
